Energetic Magnificence

Why Not?

last night I led the Men in my Men’s Group and I had an epiphany.  There is a saying that we are not afraid of our darkness what we are afraid of is the magnificence of our light.  In the past I have discarded this as more self involved prittle prattle from the crowd that believes the world is round (round and round the world rotates around them and their thoughts),

Eskimos have 23 names for snow, we have none for our energy!

But there is truth to the saying- we are afraid to shine.  We think we must earn the right to shine.  This is like saying we have to earn the right to feel pleasure, to our belonging, that we have no birthrights.  In our culture we have this aversion to our own energy.  My epiphany it this:  why not shine like the sun?

It seems like hubris to us, but if you think about it, the sun shines unearned, why not us? I have seen people with nothing who shine ten times brighter than CEOs I have known and remain completely invisible to them.

At the core of this is this question- How does one succeed in this world with out betraying the truth.  This is an important question.  Could Neo do life in the Matrix well?  He put everything on the table, what are you willing to put on the table?  Sometimes I feel like we are jesters in Neros court and we are laughing at Jesus.  We trade away our birthright for our fragile, and getting more fragile all the time, place at court.

So I am inviting you to join me in this practice of awakening your own inner sun and fanning its flames.  When I see people with great inner fire I am totally inspired.  Combine inner fire with physical strength and will power and you have dynamos.  I invite you to join me in starting to fan the flames of your own inner sun.  Try it for one day and let me know how it makes you feel!

I think that we definitely look for permission to shine when in fact it’s our birthright. Lets say fuck the permission

    That is so true!

How long did it take you to figure that out?

    A while, no? crazy that!

The amount you can shine is actually a bit frightening- there is a whole world of experience we have no vocabulary for. Shine on you crazy star!
